Presidential Inauguration Travel Options Delivered by TripVerde National Ride-Sharing Service Provides Economic & Environmental Solutions to Travel

The January 20, 2009 Inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington DC is an historic event heralding change for our nation. Top priorities of the new administration will be addressing climate change and the economy. Since personal transportation is a key contributor to global warming emissions, TripVerde is doing its part by introducing a national ride-sharing service, a smart way of helping people get to the inauguration that saves money, saves gas and saves the environment by reducing individual carbon footprint.

TripVerde employs technology and Ride-Jockeys in a ride-sharing service that pairs people headed to the inauguration with like-minded people from their region. Registration at www.obamainaugurationrideshare.com for ride-sharing with TripVerde enables people to be part of the change.  The benefits of TripVerde's solution are simple. Consider the TripVerde solution for a 4-person ride-share from Anywhere, USA, 2700 miles from DC. The Driver receives compensation that will cover gas expenses and more for driving to DC and back. Each rider pays less than $200.

Roundtrip, less than the cost of the bus. Drivers and riders can donate up to 1.5 cents/mile to Teach For America (www.teachforamerica.org), a not-for-profit educational agency working to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort.  The planet benefits by reducing car-related carbon emissions!  Now that's a win-win solution!

More than 4 million people are projected to attend the Obama presidential inauguration. Obama Inauguration Rideshare or www.obamainaugurationrideshare.com for more information, to use our free ride calculator and to register to ride-share with TripVerde to the 2009 presidential inauguration.

TripVerde, Inc. is based in Austin, TX and has offices in Denver, CO; Palo Alto, CA; Bangalore and Kolkata, India. Friday, September 26, 2008
Austin Business Journal - by Kate Harrington ABJ Staff

Austin companies can, apparently, walk the walk when it comes to all things green.

This year’s ninth annual Texas Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair will have more than adequate representation from Austin companies, with 25 Austin green businesses exhibiting out of 100 total companies doing so and 25 out of 50 companies presenting talks and workshops.

The event runs from noon Sept. 26 through 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at Market Square in downtown Fredericksburg.

Austin companies participating include Green Mountain Energy, which is donating free carbon credits to volunteers, and TripVerde. The startup TripVerde, which matches drivers and riders for efficient carpooling, will make ride matches to the event based on starting and ending points, time constraints and preferences.

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Event organizers, hoping to stay true to event core goals to reduce environmental impact, made another commitment for a more sustainable and less wasteful approach to this year's Energy Roundup. TripVerde has offered their trip matching service to the Renewable Energy Roundup by providing free travel matching for event participants as a public demonstration of their new technology. The service includes personalized matches based on starting and ending points and time constraints and other preferences like gender, smoking/nonsmoking

TripVerde is an Austin-based startup that hopes to democratize transportation and fill empty seats in vehicles for organizations, companies and events. The "ride jockeys" are real people who help match drivers and riders, a huge improvement on traditional bulletin board programs. In the future this program will help match static or regular trips like work commutes as well as dynamic (on the fly) ride shares using cell phones, their sophisticated route matching technology and personalized matching service. This service offers return ride guarantee and safety features through internal audit and data research along with GPS tracking that is being developed for clients. Riders can try this new "green ride" by going to www.tripverde.com. The special event phone number for TripVerde is 512-696-0438 or callers can reach the Roundup at 877-376-8638. Marianne Linde, of TripVerde says, "We hope that one day everyone's car will become a source of income to provide convenience and savings for commuters and taxi moms or anyone who owns a car.

At the Renewable Energy Roundup & Green Living Fair over 7500 people are expected to gather and explore products and technology that is sustainable, renewable and recyclable - products that offer green-living choices.

The Renewable Energy Roundup is co-organized by the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association and the Texas Solar Energy Society, in cooperation with the Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. Event proceeds will benefit TREIA and TXSES, two non-profits that strive to increase the understanding and awareness of renewable energy applications and promote their wide use. Major sponsorship is provided by the Texas State Energy Conservation Office.
